Ezi-SERVO Series Motors
Category: Key Components
Exhibitor: SMART MOTION CONTROL CO., LTD. / SATA
Booth No: J1118
Characteristic
1. Motion Control Based on EtherCAT Communication
This product adopts EtherCAT technology—a high-speed, Ethernet-based fieldbus system (Slave device).
It complies with the CoE (CANopen over EtherCAT) application layer standard defined by the EtherCAT architecture and supports CiA402 motion control profiles including:
(1) Profile Position Mode
(2) Profile Velocity Mode
(3) Homing Mode
2. Load-Based Current Control
The Ezi-SERVO II EtherCAT system automatically adjusts motor current according to load conditions, effectively reducing heat generation in both the motor and driver. This not only extends product lifespan but also improves energy efficiency.
3. Closed-Loop Stepper System
Unlike conventional open-loop stepper motors—where sudden load changes may cause positioning errors or missed steps—the Ezi-SERVO II EtherCAT employs a servo-based closed-loop control mechanism.
Equipped with a high-resolution encoder that updates feedback every 25 μs, the system continuously monitors the motor's actual position and compensates for any deviation, ensuring superior positioning accuracy and operational reliability.
4. Boost Current / Running Current Settings
By configuring the Boost Current parameter, the motor current can be increased up to 150%, enhancing acceleration and deceleration performance.
Additionally, Running Current parameters can be adjusted to improve torque output during operation.
5. No Gain Tuning Required
Traditional servo systems require gain tuning to optimize performance—a process that can be both time-consuming and labor-intensive. Moreover, the tuning outcome often varies with different load types, introducing complexity and unpredictability.
The Ezi-SERVO II EtherCAT, however, leverages the inherent characteristics of stepper motors, eliminating the need for gain tuning entirely.
This dramatically simplifies setup and reduces commissioning time.
In particular, for systems with low mechanical rigidity (e.g., belt and pulley mechanisms), where conventional servos may struggle with hunting or compensation issues, the Ezi-SERVO II EtherCAT offers a superior solution. It delivers optimal performance even in high-speed, high-load environments—making it the ideal choice for demanding motion control applications.
